Happy Holidays from PSLS

On Friday, December 15th, the 8th graders participated in a program called ID Project. This innovative program goes beyond traditional education, emphasizing the importance of understanding, acceptance, and unity among students. ID project is designed to break down barriers and encourage students to get to know one another on a deeper level. Through a series of interactive games/activities/groupwork, the program aims to foster a sense of community while celebrating the different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives within the student body. This not only helps build empathy but also allows students to appreciate what their classmates brings to their school community.
A cornerstone of the ID Project is its commitment to inclusivity. The program actively addresses issues of bias, prejudice, and stereotypes, providing students with the tools to challenge and overcome these barriers. By promoting open dialogue and understanding, the ID Project empowers students to create an environment where everyone feels accepted and valued.
The 8th graders walked away from yesterday’s activity with a deeper understanding of one another. They learned that they had a lot more in common than what they realized. Likewise, they learned the importance of respecting one another’s differences.

The Preble Shawnee Band Program presented their annual winter concert, "Holiday Extravaganza." Under the direction of Mr. Fogle, each band played a selection of songs that demonstrated their talent and hard work. We are extremely proud of all of our musicians. Thank you to those who came out to support our students.

The 5th graders got festive with oil pastels in art class! Students were encouraged to draw big, and use oil pastel techniques that allowed colors to blend together and create beautiful turkey feathers! We are grateful for our creative students!
