🦃Last week Miss. Cottingim's class calculated the cost of Thanksgiving dinner using Kroger ads. They'll be ready to host their own dinner in the years to come. 😁🦃

😁❄️Good morning from Preble Shawnee Middle School.  Here are a few important dates to remember. 🔴MAP Testing (12/2, 12/4, and 12/10)- all students will take their MAP test first thing in the morning... and will then follow a modified two-hour delay schedule.   🌲🎄8 Days of Christmas (12/11-12/20)-see attachment for daily themes 🦌🦌Reindeer Games and Movie (12/20)- The houses will compete in a friendly competition of games and watch a movie.  It will be 5th vs. 6th and 7th vs. 8th. 

🎨In 5th grade art, students created Van Gogh-inspired pumpkin landscapes! We studied Vincent van Gogh's iconic brushstroke techniques 🖌and expressive use of color, focusing on Starry Night.💫⭐️ Using oil pastels for texture and detail, students added swirling skies and vibrant backgrounds. They finished their work by painting with diluted tempera paint, creating a resist effect that brought their designs to life. After completing these beautiful artworks, students were excited to take them home and share them with their families! This project blended art history with hands-on creativity, allowing students to explore texture, movement, and bold color combinations in their own artwork.

Preble Shawnee Elementary December Events 🎄

The staff at Preble Shawnee Elementary are grateful and extend warm Thanksgiving wishes to the entire Preble Shawnee community!🦃

Third grade students in Miss Cooper's class had the opportunity to be Macy's Thanksgiving parade puppeteers. The past two days students learned the history of the Thanksgiving day parade and the famous puppeteer Tony Sarg. Students had to come up with a design, sketch it out, write the materials they would use to create it. When they had all of that completed, they took their ideas and made them come to life. 🎈

At the Football Awards Ceremony, four members of the team were recognized for breaking school records this season! Isaac Blankenship, all time leading scorer with 236 points. Brody Lynch, 458 career tackles. Colton Schroeder, 10 extra points in one game. Brody Morton, tied record for 5 passing touchdowns in 1 game and #1 all time passing TD in a career with 60. The team also recognized the seniors on the team. Congratulations on a great season!

Mrs. Clark's and Mrs. Lovely's preschool students got to enjoy a Thanksgiving Feast together to celebrate Thanksgiving. 🦃

Last week, Preble Shawnee elementary kindergarten students learned all about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the incredible floats it features. Each student chose a float to create, working hard to design their own amazing balloon floats. Today, they proudly showcased their creations in a special parade for the entire school! It was the perfect way to celebrate creativity and kick off the holiday season!

This Sat Nov 23 Preble Shawnee NHS and Student Senate students will be helping with our local HIT Foundation by accepting donations of clothes (❄️special need for winter items such as coats, sweaters, jeans, and sweatshirts/sweatpants, hats and gloves❄️). We will be at the high school from 10 to 12 and in Eaton at the Visitation Catholic Church from 2-4.  😁😁Clean out your closets and drawers to make room for your new Christmas presents AND help families in need. Yesterday, the 2nd-grade students at Preble Shawnee Elementary explored the incredible Newport Aquarium, enjoying a day filled with learning about marine life. 🐠🦈

💥Attention PSHS, here's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the spirit of giving🦃 We need your help............. The Preble Shawnee NHS and Student Senate students are joining with our Local Hit Foundation to collect donations to make Care Kits. Attached is a list of items being collected. You may be asked by one of these members  to donate 5 items of your choice from the list in the next week. Monetary donations will also be accepted and given to the Foundation directly to purchase larger items of need. On Sat Nov 23rd, there will be a Donation Drive at Preble Shawnee High School of Hygiene items, canned goods, and new or gently used winter coats and clothing. It's the weekend to clean out those closets and pantries and make your donations!

💥Here's an exciting opportunity for our Middle School students to help others & have fun during the holiday season. 🦃 PSMS Starting November 14th through the 22nd, we’re celebrating the spirit of giving with a Food Drive Service Project to support a local charity, and YOU can be part of it! Here’s how it works: Cans /Nonperishables: 1 item of food = 4 feathers Cash: 25 cents = 1 feather Your donations will earn *feathers* for your house, and the house with the most feathers will be crowned the winner and earn HOUSE POINTS! Bring in non-perishable food items or cash donations to help those in need and compete for the top spot. The more you give, the more points your house earns! Let’s make this November one of generosity, teamwork, and house pride! Start collecting and get ready to make a BIG impact! Let the competition begin!

Today, students in grades 1-4 held a Veterans Day assembly to honor veterans from all branches of the military. They celebrated with songs and poetry readings. Thank you Veterans for your service. 🇺🇸
