Preble Shawnee FFA helps out with
Hurricane Victims

The
Preble Shawnee FFA chapter recently held a school wide fundraiser for hurricane
Harvey and Irma victims, the chapter partnered with (CWS) Church World
Services. CWS is an organization that collects emergency cleanup buckets that
"provide assistance to families and communities affected by flooding,
tornadoes and other disasters." Each bucket has a value of $75, they have
15 total items to complete a single bucket. A few items are laundry detergent,
sponges and clothesline. The chapter usually would make a charitable
contribution to this organization. However, in light of the recent natural
disasters to the United States our chapter felt the need to have greater
involvement. We had a Goal of 10 complete buckets. We ended up with a total of
13 buckets. Our chapter advisor,Miss. Sarhra Flinn, will be delivering the
buckets to a drop of center to where they will then be taken to hurricane
victims in need.
We
would like to thank the Preble Shawnee staff, students, and community members
for their help to fill the buckets!
